# **Fractional CMO SERVICES for Accounting & Advisory Firms**

## Ownership, Not Another Strategy Deck

I build your marketing function, drive it until it's producing, then hand you the keys.
Every engagement starts with a paid assessment, not a sales pitch.

## The Framework: Build-Drive-Transfer

Build. I build the function after collaborating with you and your leadership team — brand and positioning, CRM and marketing automation, the content engine, ICP frameworks, sales enablement. The actual system, built by the person who's accountable for it working.

Drive. I run what I built. Weekly direction, all action items and deliverables in a project management dashboard, internal team direction, agency and vendor management, reporting your CFO will actually read, a KPI framework tied to outcomes your partners already care about — not vanity metrics dressed up as strategy.

Transfer. When you're ready, I hand it over. To your team, to the marketer we hire and I help develop. Agencies and external vendors aligned. The systems keep running and you own the playbook. I believe a marketing function that run without me tied to it is the best advertisement I have.

## How I run marketing for accounting and advisory firms

Most firms I meet have plenty of marketing activity and no one connecting it. The website agency and the partner posting on LinkedIn are each working from a different idea of who the firm is for. I start with your clients and your pipeline: who buys from you and where deals stall. That becomes the strategy, meaning which clients to pursue and which services to lead with. Then I build the operation that carries it out and report on it in numbers your partners already track. Each quarter, what the system learns goes back into the next round of decisions, so the marketing gets sharper the longer it runs. Below is how an engagement moves through it: Build, Drive, Transfer.

What the system learns feeds back in

## Engagement Scope of Work & Pricing

### Marketing Assessment

$5,000. Three weeks, fixed scope. Up to six stakeholder interviews, a full review of your website, CRM, campaign and pipeline data, brand materials, and competitive set. You get a written assessment: a constraint diagnosis, a positioning verdict, a 90-day roadmap, a KPI framework, and a recommended operating model — presented to you and your leadership team directly. It also includes a straight answer if the honest one is "you don't need a fractional CMO." If we move forward within 30 days of the presentation, half the assessment fee credits toward your first month.

### The Embedded Fractional CMO Engagement

$8,000 – $15,000/month, scoped to what your firm actually needs — full strategic ownership, brand and content direction, CRM and MarTech guidance, agency management, sales enablement, and a KPI framework reviewed monthly. This is the Build and Drive phases in practice: hands-on, accountable, and reported on in language your leadership team already speaks. Strategic marketing function leadership, not day-to-day copywriting or design production — I manage the people and vendors who do that work, I don't compete with them for it.

### After Transfer: the Advisory Relationship

$4,000/month. Once your marketing function has a junior person running it and agencies are doing the specialized work, what's left is governance: a quarterly business review, a monthly coaching session with the marketer we hired and developed together, and an agency performance review — plus one board or partner-meeting appearance a quarter if you want it. This isn't a discounted version of the embedded engagement. It's a different role, for a function that's already running, from the person who built it.

## Fractional CMO Services

### Lean systems + high-output CMO leadership = Highest ROI for your business goals

Part of building a function that outperforms its headcount means using the tools that let one person do what used to take a team. I integrate AI across research, content, and campaign architecture — not as a feature I'm selling, but as how the system gets built lean enough for a $15M–$50M firm to actually afford executive-level marketing leadership. I also source, scope, and manage external agencies who demonstrate effective ROI and specialized expertise so my time is spent on the highest level value for your goals.

Each engagement varies based on what your business goals are and the capabilities of your internal team. But one thing is consistent, I own your marketing function and optimize it around all the modern skill sets (functions) needed to grow revenue in 2026 and beyond. ### Fractional CMO Frequently Asked Questions:

When Does the Fractional CMO Model Work Well?

A fractional CMO model works when a company already has revenue and already has a marketing budget — what's missing isn't money, it's someone senior enough to direct where that budget goes and accountable enough to own what happens once it's spent. I built this practice for that gap specifically: firms that have outgrown ad-hoc marketing but aren't ready for a $300,000 full-time executive hire. It's not a bargain version of a CMO for a company that can't afford marketing at all. It's a senior leader, on a schedule that aligns with a realistic marketing execution budget, designed to achieve specific business or growth goals.

How Is a Fractional CMO Different From a Marketing Consultant?

A consultant hands you a plan and moves on to the next client — what happens with that plan afterward is your problem, not theirs. That's the strategy drawer: where well-intentioned recommendations go to sit, unopened, while the business that paid for them keeps running the way it always has. A fractional CMO doesn't get to walk away like that. I own the outcome, not just the advice — the campaigns launch, the systems get built, the results get reported back to you every month, because I'm the one who has to show up and account for them. That accountability is the entire distinction. It's also why the pricing model looks different: a consultant bills by the hour for advice given; a fractional CMO is retained, because the job doesn't end when the meeting does.

How Is a Fractional CMO Different From a Marketing Agency?

An agency executes what you tell them to build — a campaign, a website, a content calendar — and does it well, provided you're clear about what's actually needed. Sometimes they also handle strategy, but it stays in their lane of expertise to execute it. They aren't truly objectively looking across ALL your marketing and business needs. They have an incentive to tell you what they do is the best tactic and ROI. For example, it's great that your website/digital marketing is bringing in leads... but what about your sales experience and nurturing? Are you converting your ideal ICP clients in your pipeline, given there is a long sales cycle to manage? What about new customer onboarding? Client experience? Profitability? A CMO is looking across all those areas in a holistic way with your CEO and CFO.

What an agency isn't set up to do is sit at your leadership table and decide what's needed in the first place, or take responsibility when three specialists in three corners of your marketing aren't pulling in the same direction.

That's usually the real gap. Most companies I meet don't have too few vendors — they have vendors with no one steering them. I've managed retainer agencies at every in-house marketing leadership role I've had, so I'm not asking you to choose between me and the agency you already trust. I'm the person who tells that agency what to build and why, holds them accountable for the results, and reports back to you on what's actually working — the leadership layer a purely execution-focused agency was never set up to provide.
